Are you passionate about the outdoors? Do you want to shape the green spaces of your local community? AGA is looking for a Maroondah City Council is looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Horticulture (Parks & Gardens) to join our team.
You will work alongside qualified Horticulturists to maintain, protect, and enhance our beautiful parks, reserves, creeks, and open spaces. This hands‐on role combines practical on‐the‐job training with formal study to set up your career in horticulture.
What You Will Do
* Green Space Maintenance: Assist with weeding, herbicide spraying, brush‐cutting, mulching, mowing, and pruning.
* Asset Care: Help with path repairs, fencing, and nursery management.
* Safety & Monitoring: Inspect parks and report on damaged or dangerous park fixtures.
* Equipment Upkeep: Safely operate and maintain council vehicles, plant, and machinery.
* Administration: Complete daily timesheets, maintenance requests, and quality logs.
* Formal Learning: Attend and participate in all required apprenticeship training courses.
