The 2032 Games Coordination branch is responsible for leading the coordination and integration of Council's commitments as a Games Delivery Partner for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032, whilst ensuring the city identifies and leverages the opportunity that the Games brand brings to the city.
About the role
The Program Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the City meets its obligations as a Games Delivery Partner, while positioning the organisation to realise long‐term legacy outcomes. This role actively integrates information across multiple programs, projects and operational streams across the City and external delivery partners to develop, maintain and refine the City's whole of system view of Games delivery.
What you'll be doing
* Develop, maintain and continuously refine the integrated portfolio view to ensure a clear and accurate representation of Games delivery across the City
* Ensure alignment and integration across multiple programs, projects and operational streams
* Identify, map and manage cross‐program dependencies, interfaces and risks
* Work with program and project leads to define and structure their programs, ensuring alignment with the City's Games obligations and delivery requirements
* Ensure cross‐cutting priorities (e.g. legacy, sustainability, workforce, readiness) are embedded across programs
* Support senior‐level decision making by ensuring timely and consistent communication of program progress, changes, impacts and consequences
* Support the application, continuous improvement and consistent use of program governance, reporting and assurance frameworks in line with City standards
* Monitor portfolio‐level risks, issues, dependencies and obligations and ensure visibility to governance bodies
* Provide visibility of portfolio performance and highlight emerging risks, issues and misalignment
* Oversee consistent application of controls, standards and reporting across the portfolio
* Provide informed advice and constructive challenge to support alignment, coordination and realistic delivery planning
* Work across internal business units and external delivery partners to ensure coordinated outcomes
* Facilitate alignment between City priorities, partner programs and Games‐wide requirements
* Represent the City in cross‐agency coordination forums where required
We're looking for people who have
* Hands on experience developing and managing tangible outputs that enable an organisation's whole of system/portfolio view
* Demonstrated experience operating in a P3M (portfolio, program, and project management) environment
* Proven capability in underlying frameworks, tools and systems in a P3M environment
* Strong experience integrating work across multiple programs, projects or functional areas on large scale programs, or complex multi‐agency initiatives
* Experience developing, undertaking and supporting governance, reporting and assurance processes, including preparation of decision‐ready information for senior leaders
* Ability to identify and manage cross‐program dependencies, risks and interfaces
* Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and advise senior stakeholders across organisational and agency boundaries
* Highly developed analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights
* Experience contributing to program design or shaping delivery approaches across multiple projects or workstreams
* Experience working in highly dynamic environments and managing evolving requirements
Mandatory qualifications / requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Business, program/project management or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
