Salary – $113,574 - $125,720 plus Superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
In this role your primary focus will be workers compensation litigation and dispute management, including permanent impairment and common law claims. You will work closely with injury managers, insurers, and legal providers to drive effective claim strategies and minimise risk exposure. In addition, you will support team leaders and injury managers with legal claim activities and strategic procedures in daily case management.
What you'll do
* Manage complex, high-risk and/or contentious workers compensation claims in compliance with NSW workers compensation and injury management legislation under the TMF scheme.
* Lead litigated claims engagement with the Claims Manager, legal service providers, and icare.
* Identify emerging risks, trends, and apply critical thinking to inform decisions and reduce exposure.
* Contribute to litigation strategies, negotiations, and decisions that deliver defensible outcomes to effectively resolve disputes and settlements.
* Provide high quality technical advice, support, training, and education to peers and employer agencies involved in litigated claims.
* Coordinate investigations, collect evidence, and engage witnesses from employer agencies.
* Handle and securely record personal and health information sensitively and confidentially in accordance with privacy laws.
What we're looking for
* Strong knowledge and practical application of workers compensation legislation.
* Demonstrated experience managing or advising on workers compensation claims, litigation and disputes, including permanent impairment and common law claims.
* Confidence operating in high-pressure, ambiguous environments with competing priorities.
* Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
Qualifications or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in workers compensation insurance, personal injury management, or legal claims (as listed in the Role Description).
Desirable skills and experience
* Exposure to the TMF NSW workers compensation scheme working with insurers, icare and external legal providers.
* Direct involvement in disputes and litigation before the Personal Injury Commission or court.
* Experience working with government organisations and the Model Litigant Policy.
* Legal, paralegal or personal injury law background.
