Festival & Events Officer (Casual)

Working under the guidance of the Festivals & Events Coordinator, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of a wide range of festivals and events. You'll be involved in everything from logistics and stakeholder coordination to marketing support and post-event evaluations — no two days will be the same!
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the coordination and delivery of festivals and events
* Liaise with suppliers, contractors and consultants
* Support event evaluation and administration processes
* Engage with community members, stakeholders and partners to encourage participation
* Identify sponsorship opportunities and support business partnerships
* Assist with grant research and applications
* Contribute to the development and implementation of event marketing strategies
* Provide general support to the Festivals & Events Coordinator
Essential Requirements
* Working with Children (Blue Card)
* QLD 'C' Class Driver Licence (or ability to obtain)
Experience
* Experience assisting with event planning, coordination and delivery
* Experience supporting marketing and communication strategies
* Exposure to events and sponsorship coordination
Skills & Attributes
* Strong organisational and time management skills with high attention to detail
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to engage positively with a wide range of stakeholders and the public
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
* Ability to work within budget constraints
* Willingness to undertake physical duties during event setup and delivery
Knowledge
* Understanding of community event and festival delivery
* Knowledge of marketing materials and promotional activities
* Awareness of sponsorship practices and grant opportunities
Desirable
* Qualification in Event Management, Marketing or related field
* Experience with sponsorship strategies, contract management or website maintenance
* Understanding of risk management and social media marketing platforms
