A global technology provideer is seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer to support large-scale network transformation and modernisation projects across the region. This is a rolling 6-month contract offering exposure to complex, carrier-grade environments and next-generation network technologies.
The role is highly customer-facing and sits across engineering, delivery, and pre-sales support. You will play a key part in designing, upgrading, and optimising live networks while acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Responsibilities
* Designing and delivering network modernisation projects across in-service and greenfield environments
* Implementing complex upgrades and reconfigurations on live production networks
* Working on multi-vendor environments with a strong focus on Ciena platforms
* Acting as the primary technical interface for customers during deployment, testing, and optimisation
* Developing and owning engineering procedures for upgrades, migrations, and audits
* Supporting network turn-up, testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation
* Collaborating with sales, product, and engineering teams on service and delivery engagements
* Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering best practices
Requirements
* Strong experience in carrier-grade or large enterprise networking environments
* Hands-on experience working with Ciena network equipment in live networks
* Deep knowledge of IP/MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, BGP/IGP, EVPN and modern network architectures
* Confident communicator able to operate in customer-facing environments
* Comfortable working across Linux/UNIX-based systems and network management tools
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
