Senior Financial Accountant – Short-Term Contract
Colac | 8-Week Assignment | $67 p.h. + Super
An experienced Senior Financial Accountant is required to provide short-term support to a local council finance team during a busy reporting period. This is a hands-on contract role suited to someone who can step in quickly, work autonomously and provide immediate support across reporting, compliance and general finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare financial reports and annual financial statements
* Support month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations and reporting
* Maintain the general ledger and ensure data integrity
* Assist with audit coordination and compliance requirements
* Support BAS, FBT and other taxation obligations
* Monitor cash flow, treasury and financial operations
* Provide support across budgeting and forecasting activities
* Contribute to process improvements and finance team support as required
About You
* CPA/CA qualified (or working towards)
* Strong background in financial accounting and reporting
* Experience preparing financial statements and working within compliance frameworks
* Advanced Excel and financial systems capability
* Able to manage priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
* Local government experience highly regarded, but not essential
Contract Details
* 8-week temporary assignment
* Colac location (onsite requirement)
* $67 per hour + super
