We are seeking an experienced Mixed-Methods UX Researcher to independently lead research studies across qualitative and quantitative tracks. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, guide the research strategy end-to-end, and mentor junior researchers translating complex consumer insights into compelling, decision-ready narratives for stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Research Strategy & Client Partnership
* Act as the primary client point of contact guiding stakeholders on the most appropriate research strategy to address their business objectives and facilitating briefings, progress updates, and post-study discussions.
* Connect research outcomes to client objectives, market realities, and strategic decision-making, building trust with clients, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
* Design proposals and pitches for client studies, driving alignment on research recommendations.
Research Design & Execution
* Lead primary research end-to-end across a diverse range of mixed methods approaches including in-depth interviews (IDIs), usability testing, diary studies, ethnography, surveys, journey mapping, concept testing, card sorting, co-design sessions, heuristic evaluations, and prototype evaluations.
* Design and execute quantitative surveys, discussion guides, and research frameworks with methodological rigour; proficient in survey design, data collection (e.g., Qualtrics), data cleaning, and inferential statistics (t-tests, ANOVA, multivariate analysis).
* Utilise Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation, computational statistics, and data extraction to ensure robust, trustworthy findings.
* Be proficient in industry-standard tools including Qualtrics, Excel, Google Sheets, R, User Testing, and DScout.
Insight Synthesis & Communication
* Synthesise large, complex datasets and qualitative inputs into clear, actionable insights strategically decoding consumer needs and communicating them through the art of storytelling.
* Prepare reports and presentations (PowerPoint, Google Slides) that translate numbers and narratives into compelling stories resonating with stakeholders.
* Challenge assumptions, validate findings, and ensure methodological rigour throughout the research lifecycle.
* Manage projects end-to-end, proactively addressing issues to ensure smooth execution and on-time delivery.
* Guide and mentor junior researchers across qualitative and quantitative projects, building mixed-methods capability within the team.
* Partner effectively with analysts, designers, product managers, and other researchers fostering collaboration and encouraging innovation in research practices.
PROJECT CONTEXT
This role supports an ongoing research programme operating on a rolling 2–3 week schedule:
* Week 1: Planning and participant recruitment.
* Week 2: Research execution moderated or unmoderated usability studies, structured evaluations, and survey analysis.
* Week 3: Insight synthesis and delivery to stakeholders.
The researcher manages the full programme workflow intake process, progress tracking, and templated study plans, deliverables, and communications against quality guidelines and milestone-based reviews by the overseeing FTE UXR.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
* 3–6 years of experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research across multiple categories and/or geographies.
* Demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive mixed-methods methodologies, including generative and longitudinal approaches.
* Specialised knowledge in advanced quantitative research, survey design, and statistical analysis — including multivariate and inferential statistics.
* Expertise in data manipulation and computational statistics using Python or R; proficiency with SQL for data extraction.
* Strong stakeholder management, communication, and active listening skills — with the ability to turn nuanced research findings into persuasive narratives.
* Experience independently managing client relationships and research projects from briefing to delivery.
