The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T;) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs. The Service is structured across four core pillars: Strategy, Innovation and Engagement; Program Delivery; Operational Services; and Security and Assurance. The Service extends from traditional ICT services to encompass a specialist radio and technology capability, including laser and radar calibration services.
The Infrastructure Branch supports the management and availability of voice, data and information. This includes the physical hardware and facilities, data storage and retrieval, network systems, legacy interfaces, and telecommunications to support SAPOL. The Branch works closely with Security and other teams within IS&T; along with SAPOL stakeholders and vendors to provide a secure reliable infrastructure. The Branch ensures existing infrastructure is maintained and managed as well as providing expert advice and services to projects where new or enhanced infrastructure is required.
The Senior Network Specialist is accountable for leading, undertaking and evaluating the delivery of technical programs, advisory functions and services related to the architecture, design, implementation, support, and lifecycle management of SAPOL’s enterprise network across on-premises and cloud environments. The role leads the development and operation of LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless (WiFi and Cellular), data centre and cloud networking, and network security controls. The Senior Network Specialist also provides expert guidance to projects, manages vendor-delivered services, and ensures the availability and quality of IS&T; network services to SAPOL.

Salary
ASO7 - $108,109 - $116,864 per annum.
