About the Role
As the Nurse Unit Manager 2 Instrument/Circulating you will provide day-to-day operational direction for the perioperative services, ensuring efficient and effective management of the area. You will have an opportunity to shape your own team and be a key driver in promoting growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
* Assist the Interventional Suite Manager in the leadership and direction of the perioperative services
* Effectively manage human, financial and material resources
* Undertake a hands-on role where required
* Understand legislative requirements, ACORN and sterilisation standards
* Be knowledgeable about accreditation processes and Quality / Risk management
* Work closely with surgeons and anaesthetists to ensure delivery of high-quality care and a strong working relationship
Skills and Qualifications
* Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
* Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
* Postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing
* Postgraduate qualification in leadership or management (or willingness to work towards)
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in Perioperative Services (operating theatres particularly)
* Extensive clinical skills in a perioperative suite with 10+ theatres and complex procedures
* Experience managing a perioperative specialty or department
* Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams with a service-excellence approach
* Strong customer service orientation and relationship-building skills
* Experience in budgeting and achieving targets and KPIs
* Workforce planning, rostering and operating within budgeted hours
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Change management and project management capabilities
* Strong influencing skills and adaptive communication style
* Well-developed oral and written communication
* High level of computer literacy
* Prior experience in the private healthcare system is advantageous
