About the school

The School of Health Sciences offers an extensive range of quality accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to engage students from learning opportunities in class through to professional workplace experience.


About the role

The Lecturer (Speech Pathology) supports student learning by delivering engaging teaching, designing and assessing coursework, and providing academic guidance to individuals and groups.

Key Responsibilities
* Teach students using lecture, tutorial, demonstrations in person and online.

* Create subject material with support to ensure achievement of the learning outcomes of the course.

* Meet with individual and groups of students to support their learning.

* Develop course material with support from more senior staff.

* Create and mark assessments taking into consideration the learning outcomes, authentic assessments and academic integrity.

* Attendance at departmental and faculty meetings.

Qualifications, skills & experience
* A PhD or current enrolment in a Higher Degree by Research

* Demonstrated clinical experience (2-3 years minimum) in a speech pathology setting with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice and professional standards.

* Current Practising member of Speech Pathology Australia (or eligibility to be a member).

* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, show empathy, and foster collegial relationships with students and peers.

* Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary healthcare teams, engage students in active learning, and cultivate a positive, inclusive clinical education learning environment.
