About the Role
Join the Emergency and Acute Care team in a agile hospital environment, providing crisis intervention and short-term support to patients and families. This role requires strong clinical judgement in fast-paced situations and a deep understanding of domestic and family violence, safety planning, and child protection frameworks. You'll work a rotating roster that includes afterhours, weekend, and on-call shifts, with placements required across the Christmas period.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention and short-term social work support
- Manage complex presentations related to domestic and family violence
- Conduct safety planning and coordinate with support services
- Handle child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting
- Liaise with internal hospital teams and external agencies
- Contribute effectively to the Emergency and Acute Care multidisciplinary team
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Social Worker
- Previous hospital experience essential
- Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention
- Strong knowledge of domestic & family violence and safety planning
- Experience managing child protection concerns and mandatory reporting
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and on-call shifts
