View favourites Position Description 549274 - Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) Support Services Department Calvary Mater Newcastle Temporary Full-Time and Part-Time Everyone is welcome at Calvary Mater Newcastle As a Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) you will be responsible for providing support across the hospital, working seven (7) days a week 24-hour rotating roster. The Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) will provide non-clinical care to a variety of areas, including but not limited to:
* To assist nursing staff in patient care
* To transport patients for admissions and discharge
* To attend all emergency codes and mortuary duties
* To assist security staff in code black situations
* To be on call for cleaning of discharge beds as required on night duty
* To attend to ICU on night work, weekends and public holidays or when there are no ICU Technicians available
Rotating roster works 8-hour shifts over a 24/7 period. The shift times are: Day shift -- 0600 - 1400 Afternoon shift --1400 - 2200 Night shift -- 2200 - 0600 Working with us We work together to be a source of healing, hope and nurturing to the people and communities we serve. What You Bring
* Current NSW Security Licence.
* Senior First Aid Certificate.
* Previous experience working in the support services area in a health care environment.
