Environmental Water Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced environmental water manager to lead our water delivery operations in the Gwydir catchment. You will develop strategic plans and manage delivery of water to key environmental assets working with partners and stakeholders to maintain and enhance wetland vegetation, fish and waterbird habitat across the Gwydir valley and Barwon River.
* You will work closely with colleagues to complete monitoring and reporting obligations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
* Developing relationships with regional communities and ensuring effective communication with diverse stakeholders is crucial to this role.
* Analyze environmental data and make recommendations to improve conservation outcomes, focusing on long-term sustainability.
* Examine policy frameworks and advise on changes required to achieve improved conservation outcomes, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This role requires an experienced environmental water manager with a strong focus on delivering environmental outcomes. As a team player, you are skilled in project management, negotiation, and building partnerships between groups representing diverse interests. Your understanding of current water, threatened species, and biodiversity conservation frameworks, legislation, and reforms impacting rivers and wetlands conservation and management programming is essential.
Requirements
You must have extensive knowledge of and experience in environmental water, river, and wetland management, planning, and policy including river, floodplain, and wetland hydrology and ecology. Proven high-level knowledge and understanding of current water, threatened species, and biodiversity conservation frameworks, legislation, and reforms impacting rivers and wetlands conservation and management programming is required. Experience negotiating successful resource management outcomes within and between groups representing diverse interests and demonstrated knowledge of the role and responsibilities of public authorities in water management is also necessary.
