About the position:
The Plant Operator performs a range of operational activities primarily supporting roadside vegetation maintenance, including the operation of a tractor with reach mower attachment. The role also contributes to road construction and maintenance within the City of Greater Geraldton.
Working under direction, the position is responsible for delivering assigned tasks in accordance with approved programs and budgets, while ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, City policies and procedures, and applicable Australian standards.
This role is offered on a 9‐day fortnight, giving you every second Friday off to recharge, plan adventures, or enjoy more time doing what matters to you.
Key accountabilities:
* Operate tractor and reach mower equipment for roadside and vegetation maintenance across the Mullewa district.
* As part of a team, construct and maintain unsealed roads and shoulders, as well as undertake road verge vegetation maintenance across the Mullewa district road network.
* Operate and maintain various plant including graders, trucks, water tankers and other plant required for road construction and maintenance, in a competent and skilled manner.
* Perform general manual labour duties as required, including working within the Mullewa town maintenance team.

Position requirements:
Ideally, you'll hold an HR licence and have experience safely operating tractor with reach mower attachment, as well as plant and equipment used for unsealed roads construction and maintenance.
Applicants with limited experience are encouraged to apply, on the job training and support will be provided for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Completion of a pre‐employment medical including alcohol and other substance testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $76,072 per annum or $38.4981 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
