We have been exclusively briefed by a multinational company seeking an experienced senior front‐end construction and projects lawyer keen to play a pivotal role in building and leading the legal and compliance function.
The company is a leader in battery development and energy storage.
Position Description
As a key member of their leadership team, you will provide advice and guidance to the company through the complex legal and regulatory landscape.
It is an opportunity that will suit a senior lawyer who is not only technically strong but also adaptable, solutions‐oriented, and eager to contribute beyond the traditional scope of legal work as the company scales.
Responsibilities
* Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including EPC and other construction contracts, supply and distribution contracts, confidentiality agreements and employment contracts.
* Provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of matters, including statutory interpretation, regulatory obligations, and compliance with Australian laws and industry standards.
* Advise internal stakeholders on day‐to‐day operational and commercial legal issues across functions, with a strong focus on practical, business‐oriented solutions.
* Prepare and negotiate contracts that align with commercial and legal risk appetite.
* Identify legal risks across the business and develop mitigation strategies that support sustainable growth and protect company interests.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' post admission experience in construction law.
* Have EPC and energy industry experience.
* Have demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functions in a fast‐moving, agile business.
* Have strong legal drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with a commercial mindset.
* Have the ability to provide clear, practical advice.
* Be highly organised, detail‐focused, and committed to delivering high‐quality outcomes under time pressure.
* Strong business acumen and pragmatic problem‐solving ability.
