This role offers an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals presenting to the emergency department with mental health needs.

You will be responsible for assessing, intervening, and responding effectively to manage risk and support patients throughout their journey in the ED setting.
\
The position requires collaboration with service providers and agencies to facilitate assertive and efficient service delivery, guided by holistic, evidence-based care principles and aligned with relevant policies and directives.

About the Role
\
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide contemporary specialist mental health care, crisis assessment, care management, consultation, and liaison services.
\
The ideal candidate will have current Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, or Bachelor of Social Work and eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers, or Current Registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia.
\
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in counselling or a related field is required, or a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) with demonstrated competency in providing specialist mental health care.

Requirements

1. Current Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, or Bachelor of Social Work and eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers, or Current Registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia;
\
2. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in counselling or a related field, or a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field;
\
3. Demonstrated competency in providing contemporary specialist mental health care, crisis assessment, care management, consultation, and liaison services;
\
4. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and service providers;
\
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
\
6. Compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer;
\
7. Agreement to comply with the requirements outlined under the General questions section at Occupational assessment screening and vaccination - FAQ;
\
8. Salary in accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s.
\
9. Familiarity with holistic, evidence-based care principles and alignment with relevant policies and directives.
