Comet Bay College is a Department of Education and Training endorsed Gifted and Talented Academic Program school that offers high‐quality programs, including Drama, Dance, Music and Art and a fully accredited Specialist Australian Rules Football Program. The Role
The Student Support Coordinator, in collaboration with other Youth Hub staff, will identify and deliver evidence‐based social/emotional programs to support student learning needs, support attendance, behaviour and social/emotional development, identify barriers to engagement, and develop preventative programs with a proactive support service for students, families and staff.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Youth Hub team to implement intervention strategies and proactive support services.
* Assist in case management of specific students or groups, addressing attendance, behaviour and social/emotional developmental needs.
* Develop, implement and monitor preventative programs to support student success.
* Resolve barriers to educational engagement and facilitate improved academic achievement.
* Build and maintain professional links to students, families, college, and community agencies.
* Use software systems and interpret data to support decision making.
Qualifications and Experience
* Aust/NZ citizen, permanent resident or eligible visa with work rights for the term.
* Valid Working With Children Check prior to commencement.
* High standards of professionalism and organisational skills.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Experience in mentoring, school engagement, and case management.
* Evidence of research, conceptual and analytical skills in developing intervention strategies.
* Experience working with students with difficulties.
* Knowledge of the youth sector and local organisations and services.
