A Day in the Life
Shape project outcomes – work with and small lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver work packages from early project development through to design, construction and commissioning.
Deliver mechanical designs – lead and execute engineering designs, ensuring high quality technical outcomes for clients.
Own the technical detail – develop calculations, specifications, and drawings that meet project and client expectations.
Be the technical expert – provide specialist advice across mechanical engineering disciplines.
Partner with project leaders – support planning, coordination, peer review, and delivery to scope, budget, and quality.
Lead proposals – shape methodologies, value propositions, fee estimates, and risk reviews.
Support procurement – prepare tender documents and evaluate bids.
Mentor emerging talent – guide junior engineers and foster a collaborative learning environment.
Qualifications
Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field with CPEng (or ability to obtain).
4–8 years’ mechanical or infrastructure engineering experience including detailed and conceptual design.
Exceptional leadership abilities including managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong teamwork and the ability to lead small teams to deliver work packages.
Advanced knowledge of clean water and wastewater services and the delivery environment.
Highly developed problem‑solving and negotiation skills to resolve disputes.
Strong understanding of D&C or alternative delivery project and programme models.
