About The OPPORTUNITY We have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical/Combat Systems Manufacturing Engineer to join our team within the Hunter class program. As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, the Electrical Manufacturing Engineer’s role is to provide design for manufacture and assembly advice, define production techniques, and contribute to design for manufacturability, recommend new technologies, and act as a technical liaison to ensure on‑time delivery of cost‑competitive, quality products.
Responsibilities
Develop production expertise during design and development activities.
Accountable and responsible for engineering support to installation or production teams to ensure correct installation or assembly, testing and commissioning of designs or changes within required project budgets and schedules.
Participate in requirements reviews.
Undertake engineering management of the electrical system/equipment manufacture.
Participate in problem identification and analysis.
Undertake engineering activities within own competence without day‑to‑day guidance or supervision, including liaison with customers and suppliers as appropriate.
Qualifications
Experience within the Electrical engineering discipline.
Experience in a Naval, Maritime or industrial production engineering capacity.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes in a commercial and/or defence environment.
Electronic and/or electrical engineering or technology qualified.
Satisfies requirements for membership of Institute of Engineers Australia.
Working toward meeting the requirements for Chartered Professional Engineer status.
Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
Clearances As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances.
