Job Summary
SGS Australia is a leading provider of Testing, Inspection, and Certification services. In the Energy Minerals business, we provide coal testing, analysis, and expert advice. We are looking for Coal Technicians to join our Muswellbrook operations. Employment type: full‐time or casual, based in Muswellbrook, NSW.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with coal sampling, preparation, and laboratory analysis
* Following routine and non‐routine sampling procedures
* Supporting calibration and maintenance of laboratory and preparation equipment
* Ensuring accuracy, precision, and traceability of all samples
* Contributing to a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
About you
* Experience in a fast‐paced, physically active industrial setting
* Previous coal sampling/testing experience (advantageous but not essential)
* Eagerness to learn and take on new tasks
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Reliability and a customer‐focused mindset
* Basic computer skills (e.g., Excel)
* Team player with the ability to meet tight deadlines
* Flexibility to work shifts and rosters
* Valid driver's license and reliable transport
* Must complete a Coal Board Order 45 medical, including respirator fit testing; clean‐shaven required where respirator seals to pass medical
