As an Intermediated Major Loss Claims Specialist, you'll manage a portfolio of complex property and SME claims. You'll apply your technical expertise, commercial judgement and customer focus to drive timely outcomes, manage risk and ensure fair and accurate settlements.
This is a dynamic, hands‐on role where no two days look the same. One day you might be investigating a large loss and setting reserves, the next you'll be collaborating with brokers, adjusters and suppliers or negotiating settlement outcomes. You'll play a key role in balancing customer experience, financial outcomes and regulatory requirements, while also contributing to a strong risk culture within the team.
This is a 6‐month maximum term contract with flexibility to work remotely for the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing
* Manage 80–100 complex property and SME claims end‐to‐end
* Investigate, assess and adjust large and complex claims
* Deliver timely, fair and commercially sound claim outcomes
* Set and maintain accurate reserves
* Build strong relationships with brokers, loss adjusters and suppliers
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
* Identify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement
* Contribute to a safe workplace by following WHS policies
What Great Looks Like
* 5+ years' experience managing home, landlord and SME claims
* Strong knowledge of insurance legislation and industry best practice
* Understanding of general insurance and broker environments
* Commercial mindset with strong problem‐solving ability
* Proven ability to manage complex claims and competing priorities
* Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills
* Highly organised, self‐motivated and able to work autonomously
* Relevant degree desirable but not essential
