About The Role
The Senior Coordinator supports the Post Sentence Branch Operations team in overseeing the day to day management of individuals subject to post sentence supervision orders. This role will also contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies, frameworks and procedures.
Some Of Your Duties Will Include
- Maintain policies, systems, procedures and practices relevant to Corrections Victoria's obligations under the legislation.
- Provide authoritative information and advice to staff and other key stakeholders in relation to the management of supervision order individuals.
- Attend, participate in, coordinate and represent Corrections Victoria in a range of internal, inter-departmental forums and case conferences
- Prepare and review reports (including incident reports), briefs and correspondence on highly sensitive and complex matters for senior executives in relation to management of supervision order individuals under the legislation.
About The Business Unit
The Community Operations and Offender Services Division of Corrections Victoria is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including quality assurance systems for risk assessment and case management, offending behaviour programs, and transition and reintegration supports. The Community Operations and Offender Services Division has responsibility for the post-sentence supervision scheme and is also responsible for the Secretariat of the Victorian Adult Parole Board.
The Post Sentence Branch, within the Community Operations and Offender Services Division of Corrections Victoria, provides central oversight and governance of the post sentence scheme and individuals subject to post sentence orders. The Serious Offenders Act 2018 sets out a civil, non-punitive scheme that provides for the ongoing supervision or detention of serious sex and/or serious violent individuals who have completed their sentence and pose an unacceptable risk of committing further relevant offences. Corrections Victoria's end-to-end management and delivery of services to serious offenders on post-sentence orders occurs through a multi-faceted governance and operating model.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Capacity to understand and apply relevant legislation, procedures, guidelines and policies within the Criminal Justice System of Victoria.
- Experience with Corrections Victoria and Justice Applications is desirable, including but not limited to E-Justice, PIMS, Serious Offender Management System (SOMS), TRIM.
Qualifications/Requirements
- An understanding of the Criminal Justice system is desirable, but not mandatory.
