Assistant in Nursing - Central Sterilising Department
$35.92 - $36.97 per hour plus 12% superannuation
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant in Nursing CSSD to join the team within the Central Sterilising Department (CSSD) on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will work on a rotational 24/7 roster which includes night shifts, weekends and public holidays.
As the Assistant in Nursing you will perform operational tasks to provide efficient and effective sterile service within Mater Health Services. The position reports to the Nurse Unit Manager and indirectly to the Nursing Director and Director of Nursing.
The Mater nursing team provides high-level specialist care to patients, families, carers and visitors. You will support the theatre and CSSD team to ensure safe and efficient sterilising service and participate in hospital quality management systems to drive continuous improvement.
About you
* Must hold / be enrolled in a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (mandatory)
* Relevant experience and knowledge in undertaking Sterile Services functions at an operational level within a hospital or other large organisations
* Understanding of Mater Mission, Values and their practical relevance to Sterile Services
* Effective communication skills with staff, customers and service partners and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Experience in Risk Management and Continuous Quality Improvement Systems and a commitment to best practice
* Experience in Workplace Health and Safety issues in Sterile Services
* Experience in loan set processing highly advantageous
