Salary and Benefits
Salary ranges vary by location and seniority. Example ranges:
South of the 26th parallel: Registrar Year 1‐7 – $158,041 to $210,963 p.a. (base salary $128,760 to $175,802 plus professional development allowance and superannuation)
Senior Registrar Year 1‐2 – $231,259 to $241,750 p.a.
North of the 26th parallel (Broome): Registrar Year 1‐3 – $184,389 to $201,670 p.a.
Health Service Medical Practitioner Years 1‐6 – $377,497 to $476,639 p.a.
All rates increase by 3% on 3 September 2026 and superannuation increases to 12.5% on 1 July 2026.

Qualifications and Experience
* Completion of medical education and a current registration with the Australian Medical Board.
* Demonstrated clinical experience relevant to the registrar specialty, including procedural competency.
* Evidence of participation in quality assurance activities and continuing medical education.
* Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, clinical practice within own limitations, and continuous improvement of patient outcomes.
* Experience or demonstrable interest in rural health service delivery.
* Ability to provide education, supervision, training, and support to junior staff.
