Solicitor – Private Equity Real Estate
We have a rare and highly sought after opportunity for an ambitious Solicitor to join our market‑leading, growth‑focused, regional Private Equity Real Estate practice. We are interested in candidates within Australia or those working in other jurisdictions, including returning Australian or internationally qualified and trained candidates keen to relocate to Australia.
About the role
In this role you will be a key market‑facing member of one of the leading Private Equity Real Estate teams in the Asia Pacific region, offering genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
The team works with leading global and regional private equity real estate sponsors, managers and investors on fast‑paced, varied, challenging and complex strategic and transactional work through the entire capital structure. The team is led by the firm's Real Estate Sector Lead, Mark Bayliss, and has a strong record of market transactions.
The role also involves working closely with Quintin du Plessis on credit‑styled investment, and other specialist teams across the firm.
About You
You bring a world view and curiosity about macro events and indicators that matter to our clients, with an Asia Pacific regional focus that is not limited by geographic or market boundaries.
You are drawn to a high‑performance culture, commercially astute, and passionate about delivering a first‑rate client experience and building long‑term, sustainable client relationships.
You have gained previous experience in private equity, funds, financing or commercial real estate within a first‑tier or other high‑profile practice, ideally with exposure to structuring equity‑styled investment into commercial real estate assets. You desire to continue developing an understanding of all aspects of such investment, including capital raising, partnering, credit and other debt‑styled investment.
You may have passion for merger and acquisition and funds work, with interest in commercial real estate, and experience structuring joint ventures, funds establishment, real estate credit or debt and other real estate investment and capital market transactions.
Qualifications
* First‑rate written and oral communication skills, strong drafting and legal analysis skills, and ability to explain complex areas of law quickly.
* Self‑aware, positive, collaborative, and able to work well in a team.
* Experience in direct exposure to clients and ability to transform client experience through engagement and fostering relationships.
