Job Description
The Temple Department is seeking to appoint a Clothing Supervisor based at the Adelaide Temple. This is a permanent, full‐time position reporting directly to the Temple Recorder.
This role plays a vital part in supporting the sacred mission of the temple by ensuring an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple, providing clean and well‐cared-for temple clothing and other linen supplies for temple patrons, workers, and employees, and ensures that an adequate inventory of clothing and limit is maintained to the highest standards. It contributes to a welcoming, orderly, and uplifting experience for temple patrons through the effective oversight of staff, inventory, and daily operations, in alignment with standards established by the First Presidency.
Responsibilities
Works with the Temple Recorder to maintain staffing levels of volunteer and other workers.
Oversees training of new workers through personal orientations, pairing new workers with experienced workers for detailed instruction, and monitoring the interaction of the pairs.
Ensures prompt, cheerful service to all patrons desiring temple clothing through proper scheduling and supervision of workers.
Supervises staff maintaining discipline and high morale among workers. Monitors and evaluates performance of staff.
Prepares time sheets and log of volunteer support hours.
Maintains adequate inventory of clothing, cleaning materials, etc., by monitoring stocks and initiating requisitions for new supplies with adequate lead time.
Sees that clothing is maintained in clean, serviceable condition, by monitoring its condition and by maintaining quality consciousness among the workers.
Assures that linen/laundry operation remains within approved budgets by correlating staffing requirements, purchases, inventory standards etc. with the Temple Recorder.
Sees that patron's service area presents a pleasing, orderly appearance by monitoring its appearance and initiating any needed corrective action.
Qualifications
Two (2) years of relevant experience (supervisory, commercial laundry, etc.)
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Experience in inventory control
Excellent interpersonal skills
Basic financial background
Must be able to lift 23 kgs; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push and perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced work environment; must be able to stand for long periods of time
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Basic computer skills (preferred)
Proof of legal right to work in Australia
A police background check may be required
