Job Overview
Senior Lecturer (Medical Coordinator) – Level C (0.4 FTE or 2 × 0.2 FTE, fixed‐term until December 2026). Base salary: $144,143–$165,809 p.a. (pro‐rata) plus 17% superannuation. Rural and remote allowance applies to residents in the immediate area. Clinical loading applicable.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver world‐class innovative medical education and training to medical students and assist preceptors and host practitioners.
* Commit to research and/or evaluation relevant to improving rural health.
* In consultation with local medical practitioners and agencies maintain and contribute to the development of local educational programmes that meet RCSWA requirements and take advantage of regional opportunities.
* Develop and coordinate rural training pathways within the local area of appointment and contribute to a state‐wide RCSWA approach.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Registered, or able to be registered with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
* Committed to working in medical practice in rural WA.
* Available to work at the RCSWA site in Karratha and able to network with regional practitioners.
* Experience as a preceptor and/or supervisor of medical students, junior doctors or registrars.
* Commitment to the principles and practice of Indigenous health in rural and regional areas.
* Commitment to rural medical education and to improving the rural medical workforce.
Location and Context
Based in Karratha, Regional Western Australia. The Rural Clinical School of WA (RCSWA) supports medical education in rural communities across 15 sites, providing hands‐on experience and professional mentoring throughout a 12‐month program.
