Join our Program Design and Delivery team in Canberra as a Senior Leader and take a leading role in shaping and delivering major Federal Government programs. This is a senior client‐facing role for someone who brings deep P3M experience, strong executive relationships and a genuine interest in building high‐performing teams that deliver practical outcomes.
You will lead a large multidisciplinary team embedded with a Federal Government client, while also helping grow our broader Federal Government P3M capability. Alongside delivery, you will work closely with Partners and leaders across Synergy to identify opportunities, respond to client needs, support proposals and help build a strong pipeline of future work.
What You'll Do
This is a role for a hands‐on leader who can confidently balance strategy, delivery, people leadership and business growth. In practice, this looks like:
* Lead the delivery of a major Federal Government program and a large multidisciplinary client team.
* Manage program planning, schedules, resourcing, risks, issues and dependencies.
* Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a strategic delivery partner.
* Coach and lead P3M professionals, supporting team performance, growth and career development.
* Help grow Synergy's Federal Government P3M practice through workforce planning and talent development.
* Identify opportunities, shape proposals and contribute to new work across major programs.
What you'll bring
Our most successful people are curious, collaborative problem‐solvers who bring structured thinking, a growth mindset and the resilience to thrive in fast‐moving environments. They build trusted relationships with integrity, communicate clearly and know when to step in to help deliver great outcomes. In this role, you'll also bring:
* Extensive experience (ideally 12+ years) leading high‐performing program teams across multiple disciplines within professional services organisations operating in Federal Government environments.
* Strong and active relationships with senior executives across Federal Government.
* Contemporary program and project management certifications, with strong P3M discipline.
* A track record of building, leading and retaining capable consulting teams.
* Experience identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals in a professional services setting.
* Clear communication, sound judgement and the ability to adapt your approach to different clients and contexts.
Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, a Baseline security clearance. If you already hold a current Baseline or higher clearance, or are eligible and willing to undergo AGSVA security vetting, we encourage you to apply. Please note that Australian citizenship is required for this process.
