Azure Systems Administrator
Adelaide, SA (On-site, with flexible working arrangements where applicable)
Pay Rate: AUD$ 75 + Super (May be stretched a bit for a perfect match)
Contract: 6 months (with potential extension)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Systems Administrator to join a critical program of work within a large-scale transformation initiative.
This role offers the opportunity to deliver impactful outcomes across complex IT environments while supporting mission-critical applications and services.
You will play a key part in designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure cloud services, ensuring security, performance, and reliability in a dynamic enterprise workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Azure cloud services to support enterprise-wide applications.
- Lead system analysis, design, and development of cloud-based solutions.
- Implement and enforce security, access, and governance standards (RBAC, IAM, Azure Policy).
- Manage Azure networking including VNets, VPNs, NSGs, VWAN, ExpressRoute, and Firewall configurations.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
- Support CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for deployment automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, outages, and system performance issues.
- Produce clear technical documentation and user procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Skills & Experience (Essential)
- Minimum 5 years' recent experience as an Azure Systems Administrator in enterprise-scale environments.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, RBAC, IAM.
- Proven expertise with Azure networking : VNets, NSGs, VPN, ExpressRoute, Firewall.
- Experience implementing and managing Azure Policy, Private Endpoints, and Private DNS.
- Hands-on skills with Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep for Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management frameworks.
Desirable / Nice-to-Have
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Data Factory, Dataverse.
- Previous experience in justice, government, or highly regulated environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science, or related fields.
