Senior cost manager/associate – data centres

Responsibilities
* Producing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
* Estimating and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
* Tendering and procurement: managing the prequalification stage, producing the tender list, preparing preliminaries, conducting pre-tender estimates, tender analysis, producing the tender report, and compiling the contractual documents.
* Dealing effectively with post‐contract cost variances and the change control processes, referring major changes to line manager where applicable.
* Progress claim assessments on site drawings of the plan.
* Carrying out cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation.
* Producing monthly post‐contract cost reports for the line manager to present to the client, and inputting into value engineering.
* Knowledge management: ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is entered into the Turner & Townsend internal database.
* Seeking out opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and reporting such opportunities to the appropriate line manager.
* Following project governance processes and systems utilised throughout the project, and cascading Turner & Townsend cost management procedures to relevant staff.
* Where appropriate, leading the cost management team to ensure they deliver on the above accountabilities.
* Adhering to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
Qualifications
* Recognised degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a similar discipline.
* Sound experience in cost planning and contract administration.
* Five years of experience in cost management roles with an emphasis on consultancy.
* Direct experience managing clients, contractors and consultants.
* Preferable RICS and AIQS accredited.
* Previous experience using CostX is preferable.
* Intermediate to high level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
