Premier's Department Digital and Social Media Advisor Talent Pool

You. At the centre of big ideas.

Join our Ministerial Offices as a Social Media Advisor. Leverage advanced media expertise to lead and deliver high impact content strategies for the Minister's Office talent‐pool opportunities, based in Martin Place, Sydney, NSW.

The way people engage with news, politics and public information has changed. Our Ministerial Offices are building a modern, digital‐first communications operation focused on clear storytelling, engaging video content and direct communication with the people of NSW.

We want to create content that feels accessible and useful—content that helps people better understand government services, decisions and announcements, and how they impact daily lives.

Digital and social media roles help improve the way public information is communicated in a fast‐moving digital environment, ensuring people can access clear, timely and engaging information on the platforms they use every day.

Strong digital communication is an important part of modern government. It helps communities stay informed, improves access to public information and ensures official information can compete with misinformation and online confusion.

Successful candidates will help deliver accurate, accessible and engaging digital communication that supports greater public awareness and understanding of government initiatives, services and priorities.

We are seeking experienced Digital and Social Media Advisors, with a specific focus on video content creation, to join a Talent Pool for upcoming opportunities based in Martin Place, Sydney.

About the Roles

Our Ministerial Offices are looking for experienced digital communications professionals who understand how people consume news, politics and public information in 2026.

This is a fast‐paced, digital‐first role with a strong focus on short‐form video production, social media content and platform‐native storytelling.

The content you develop will help to deliver content strategies that cut through online, with a particular emphasis on Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and other emerging digital platforms.

You will identify opportunities to communicate government priorities and announcements in ways that feel clear, engaging and accessible for online audiences.

As a social and digital media expert, you will work closely with Ministers, media teams and policy advisers to create compelling digital content that supports announcements, media events and broader government priorities.

This includes:

* Filming and producing short‐form video content
* Editing social‐first video for digital platforms
* Developing platform‐specific content strategies
* Producing rapid response and reactive content
* Turning complex policy into engaging digital storytelling
* Supporting live events, press conferences and community engagement opportunities
* Monitoring digital trends, audience behavior and emerging media opportunities

We are looking for people who understand modern digital communications, including direct‐to‐camera video, creator‐style storytelling and authentic online engagement.
