Description:
The Chaplain role is to support Narnia staff through pastoral means. To be a stable, supportive person who can provide prayer, referrals, and care. To build relationships, foster community, and support staff wellbeing. This includes but is not limited to:
* Providing pastoral care to staff of each Early Learning Centre
* Building relationships intentionally with staff
* Upholding and supporting the philosophy, mission, core values, vision, policies, and aims of Narnia Early Learning and the wider St Philip’s organisation
* Visiting each centre once a term, with additional visits as required by the Executive Director
* Working in a safe, confidential, and supportive manner
* Creating or sourcing documents on key support areas
* Completing designated administrative tasks
* Providing information on external support services to staff
* Supporting/enhancing a positive workplace culture
* Sending at least monthly devotionals, links, or written communication to all Narnia staff
* Providing a termly report to the Executive Director of Narnia Early Learning
* Attending extra staff development days and events

In respect of Personal Faith:
* Being an active member of a Christian church
* Seeking regular Christian teaching and fellowship

Essential Skills:
* Minimum Cert IV in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care
* A strong foundation and ongoing commitment to the Christian faith
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements:
* Current Working with Children Check
* Current Police Check
* Own transport
Skills and Experiences:
* Degree in Theology
* Previous experience in ministry or pastoral roles

No job description can fully capture the complexity of working within an Early Learning Centre. This role may include other duties as required by the Executive Director of Narnia Early Learning. Job descriptions will be reviewed periodically to remain relevant in a changing environment.
We will support your performance and ongoing development to prepare you for future challenges as our organization adapts and grows. This is a part-time position starting in early 2025, with current hours from Monday 7:30 am to 2 pm.
