Volunteer Coordinator Role
As our Volunteer Coordinator, you'll be the heartbeat of our centre, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. You can mould the position to suit your preferences and schedule – an amazing opportunity for a passionate person who wants to hone their organisational and self‐management skills.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate volunteer shifts from Wednesday to Sunday, with the aim of having the centre open for three afternoons a week (starting small, e.g., every Friday afternoon).
* Maintain a roster of volunteers, keep everyone informed, motivated and committed; a phone will be provided for contacting volunteers.
* Work alongside another volunteer to prepare the centre for a fantastic day of activities.
* Serve as the go‐to person for volunteers, fostering a supportive and engaging environment.
* Create a welcoming atmosphere that prioritises the needs and interests of the youth.
* Organise activities and theme nights to attract more youth to the centre; brainstorm fun, cost‐effective activities and theme nights with the youth and volunteers. Grant‐writing skills for applying for funds are a plus.
Qualifications & Requirements
* A recent National Police Clearance and a valid Working With Children Check are essential.
* Strong organisational and self‐management skills.
* Passion for youth wellbeing and ability to connect with young people.
