We’re now looking for a full-time Maintenance Fitter to join our team at the Material Recovery Facility (MRF). You’ll be part of an inclusive, supportive, and diverse team!
In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of plant equipment by performing both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
Flexible working hours, from 6am - 2pm or 8am 4pm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform preventative maintenance on plant machinery, conveyors and equipment (primarily on conveyors)
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical faults efficiently
* Proactively identify and implement process and equipment improvements
* Proactive welding during downtime hours
* Follow all safety regulations, report safety hazards, unsafe practices, and report any near-miss incidents
* Communicate effectively with internal management and team members
About you:
* Previous experience in maintenance fitting within waste management/recycling, FMCG, food production, manufacturing or heavy industrial
* Previous experience diagnosing and repairing conveyors will be highly regarded
* Welding - MIG experience is required
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (desirable but not mandatory)
* Strong commitment to safety and quality work practices
* Good understanding of mobile equipment and mechanical troubleshooting
