Our client is a large, well-established manufacturing group with operations across ANZ and Southeast Asia.
They're seeking a Senior Category Manager to take ownership of their packaging procurement function - leading strategy, supplier performance, and team capability across a varied and business-critical portfolio.
This role offers a rare opportunity to shape the direction of a high-value category that plays a key role in both operational performance and brand delivery.
The Role:
You'll be responsible for the end-to-end management of a complex packaging category spanning resin-based materials, flexible films, pouches, and corrugated cases.
Working closely with cross-functional partners in marketing, R&D, supply chain, and finance, you'll lead sourcing strategy, unlock value through supplier partnerships, and support major initiatives across innovation, sustainability, and NPD.
This role also manages a small team of procurement professionals and plays a key part in broader procurement capability uplift across the group.
Key responsibilities: Lead category strategy and execution across multiple sites and geographiesManage sourcing and commercial negotiations across key packaging formats including resin, flexibles, pouches, and corrugated casesDrive supplier performance, risk management, and long-term cost optimisationPartner with internal teams to support NPD and sustainability initiativesManage and mentor a small team, setting clear direction and supporting developmentEmbed structure, process discipline, and commercial insight across the categoryDeliver against annual operating plans and long-term category goalsWhat you will need: At least 7+ years' experience in procurement, with strong exposure to packaging categoriesSound knowledge of key materials and formats, including resin, flexibles, and corrugateProven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholdersStrong commercial acumen and negotiation capabilityLeadership experience (either direct reports or project teams)Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g.
SAP, Coupa) and supplier performance frameworksBackground in manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environments preferredWhat's on offer?
