The Company:My client is an established QLD-owned commercial Builder Developer that delivers a diverse range of refurbishment, redevelopment, and construction projects/development projects.
In addition to their own development projects, this company also delivers projects for a variety of external private sector clients across the commercial, industrial, multi-residential, childcare, and mixed-use retail/fast food sectors.
With 75% of their work being negotiated through existing relationships, they have delivered repeat work with institutional clients including Stockland, Charter Hall, ISPT, National Storage, G8 Education, Goodstart Early Learning,, and Metro Development Group just to name a few.
*The Role:*As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the relevant Contract Management, Forecasting, Financial Reporting, and Governance functions across the businesses' Project Teams.
You will also be responsible for the review, negotiation, and execution of Head Contracts and Subcontractors, flagging any potential issues to mitigate risk to the business. This will include the engagement of external legal counsel for further clarification/resolution, acting as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
In doing so, you will be responsible for driving and mentoring the businesses' Project Delivery Teams (CA's, PM's, Cadets etc), ensuring all contract/financial reporting is accurate and up to date, while proactively identifying risks/opportunities and further advising on strategies to mitigate potential risks/disputes.
*Ideal Experience:*
* Minimum 8 years of experience working for a commercial builder, developer or project management consultancy in a Contract Admin or Contract Manager capacity.
* Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture.
* Experience overseeing the associated procurement, contract management, and financial management functions, ideally on commercial mixed-use, multi-residential, and/or mixed-use construction and development projects.
* Experience reviewing, negotiating, and executing Head Contracts and Subcontracts, coordinating with external legal counsel during disputes to achieve resolution.
* Strong contractual and financial management focus, with demonstrated experienced leading the relevant forecasting and reporting functions on commercial projects.
