The Opportunity
ISS is searching for an experienced and motivated Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen operations working fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) roster from Perth Airport to our remote sites throughout Western Australia. You will work on a 2:1 roster, enjoying a balance between work and life, and report to the Head Chef/Village Manager. In this role you will showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic remote mining environment while supporting the catering team to deliver high-quality meals and a positive on-site dining experience for residents.
Working 10-12 hour days in demanding, remote environments requires solid fitness and resilience. If you're driven, self-motivated, and ready for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals consistently and efficiently.
* Support the kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
* Assist with stock management, ordering, and kitchen operations.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu execution and service improvements.
* Mentor junior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Proven professional work experience as a qualified chef (minimum 2–3 years).
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery recognised in Australia (or higher).
* Bulk cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen environment (desirable).
* Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work under pressure.
* Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and WHS requirements.
* Must pass a full pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol screen – ESSENTIAL.
* Full working rights in Australia – ESSENTIAL.
* Police clearance (not older than 12 months) – ESSENTIAL.
* Ability to work 2&1 FIFO roster from Perth Airport.
