Friends of the Community Inc – Supported by Cockburn Volunteer Centre – Spearwood WA
Volunteers will support community engagement by assisting with food preparation, cooking, and service at events, helping the organisation deliver safe, enjoyable, and well‐run community programs.
The volunteer will work alongside the Marquee Team Leader and other event staff. No formal qualifications are required, though experience in cooking or catering is preferred. Training on food safety, event procedures, and equipment use will be provided. Volunteers will gain hands‐on experience in event management and teamwork.
Key Tasks
* Assist in planning and preparation for community events
* Set up and pack down BBQ equipment, marquee, and food service areas
* Prepare and cook food items according to menu and quantity requirements
* Monitor cooking times to ensure food is served fresh and safe
* Maintain a steady supply of cooked food to avoid service delays
* Follow Food Safe WA guidelines at all times
* Assist with general event support as required
