- Salary range: $ to $ p.f. (PO5)
- 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity

As a member of the in‑house legal team, oversee and provide strategic advice on the management of employee relations (performance, conduct, grievances, complaints, investigations, ill and injured employees etc) and support the organisation in meeting its objectives by:

- Delivering briefings to the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Executive Leadership Team and senior managers on workforce related legal matters, as required;
- Guiding, leading and providing case management (as required) of dispute and grievance investigation and resolution at all levels in the organisation; and
- Translating complicated legal concepts into practical solutions to inform stakeholders.

Requirements:

- Possess a degree in Law and admission or eligibility for immediate admission to practice as a solicitor or barrister in the Supreme Court of Queensland and enrolment or eligibility for enrolment to practice in the High Court of Australia.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre‑employment checks will be conducted.

The Townsville Hospital and Health Service comprises 18 hospitals and community health campuses and two residential aged care facilities.

The health service has a population of more than 230,000 and employs a workforce of around 5,000 dedicated staff, all whom take pride in providing the best possible care to thousands of patients across the region. In the past financial year, the health service provided almost 65,000 in‑patient occasions of service, had more than 75,000 emergency department attendances and delivered more than 2,600 babies.

The health service has five clinical service groups. These are: Surgical, Mental Health, Rural Hospitals, Medical and Health and Wellbeing. They are supported by the Commercial Services Group.
