This is a senior position that combines both strategic and transactional responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Drafting and negotiating construction contracts (D&C, EPC, GC21, AS forms etc.)
* Managing consultant agreements for design, engineering, acoustic, power, cooling, and other specialist services
* Advising on delays, extensions of time, variations, defects, and operational performance matters
* Supporting risk allocation, warranties, indemnities, and security arrangements
* Negotiating grid connection agreements, electricity supply arrangements, embedded network structures, and renewable PPAs (where relevant)
* Advising on procurement strategy for critical equipment
* Managing tender documentation and contract negotiations with major vendors
The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years' post-qualification experience in construction and infrastructure law, gained within a leading law firm and/or major EPC or project delivery organization.
They will also have strong technical construction and projects experience, ideally with exposure to energy and renewables, and proven ability to manage complex, multi-party transactions with a commercial and solutions-focused mindset.
