Edge of the Bay Resort (EOBR) is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. We go beyond accommodation, offering personalised service and immersive adventures that leave a lasting impact. From thoughtfully curated tours to exceptional dining, every detail is designed to showcase the best of Tasmania. Hyper-local, unforgettable, and a world of natural beauty—what more do you need?
We’re looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations and deliver what we call the Intrepid Experience —a dining journey that complements and elevates each guest’s stay. Catering to over 50 guests at a time, this role is responsible for supervising kitchen staff, maintaining the highest health and safety standards, and working closely with local producers and suppliers to craft innovative, high-quality menus.
As a key member of EOBR’s leadership team, you’ll play a vital role in championing our values and driving the hotel’s continued growth in alignment with our 2030 strategic vision. We’re seeking someone who is not only passionate about food but also about our brand and its future.
This full-time, permanent position is based on-site in scenic Coles Bay, Tasmania, paying between $90,000 and $100,000 per year.
Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:
* Experience as a hands-on Head Chef or Sous Chef with a background in high-end restaurants
* Excellent technical knowledge and experience in varied cooking techniques
* In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
* Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Ability to manage budgets, inventory, and kitchen schedules effectively
* Passion for delivering high-quality food and memorable guest experiences
