About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Services Engineer to join our Mining Services Technical team. The role will initially be based at a customer site, operating on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, with all flights, travel, vehicle, meals, and accommodation covered during the roster period. The primary responsibility is to deliver advanced blasting engineering projects, solutions, and product stewardship to our mining customers in Queensland.

Key responsibilities
* Blasting Projects: Managing advanced blasting projects on customer sites using Orica's cutting-edge systems and technologies.
* Blasting Product Stewardship: Providing expert advice on Orica's blasting products.
* Working Together: Building sustainable relationships with customer technical and operational teams.
* Advanced Blasting Solutions: Collaborating with customer teams to solve complex blasting problems.
* Continuous Learning: Attending training sessions, seminars, and masterclasses to enhance skills.
Qualifications and experience
* Degree in mining engineering or related field such as geology or civil engineering.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in drill & blast, preferably in varied open-cut mining environments.
* Experience with blast design systems and technologies.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize safety.
* Experience managing environmental impacts like vibration, fume, dust, and noise.
* Inquisitive mindset focused on delivering value.
