Primary, Early Childhood and Education Support (PECES) are seeking to establish a pool of Principal Project Consultant – KindiLink for fixed term, full-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The PECES branch is responsible for systemic policy and strategic planning in early childhood for Western Australia public schools. The Branch has responsibility for implementing state and national early childhood education reforms including National Partnerships and Agreements. This includes policy leadership and direct support to schools for the early years of schooling and liaison across education sectors and government and non‑government agencies.
The Role
The Principal Project Consultant – KindiLink is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the KindiLink program across participating sites, providing professional guidance to educators, supporting program review and improvement, and advising schools and regions on effective early learning practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coordinate, and evaluate strategic early childhood initiatives and projects across schools and regions.
* Provide professional advice, guidance, and support to school leaders, teachers, and Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers (AIEOs) on effective early learning and family engagement practices.
* Develop, deliver, and review professional learning programs aligned with early childhood best practice.
* Build and maintain productive, culturally responsive partnerships with schools, communities, and relevant stakeholders.
* Undertake on‑site visits, reviews, and verification processes to support school self‑assessment and continuous improvement.
* Prepare high‑level reports, briefings, and system‑level advice to inform policy and practice.

* Strong project management and analytical skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives concurrently.
* Expertise in early childhood education, including pedagogical leadership.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders and communities.
* The capacity to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
* A commitment to cultural responsiveness and equity in education, particularly for Aboriginal and CaLD children and families.

Eligibility
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
* Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
* Complete the Department's induction programme within three months of commencement.
* Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
* Complete the Department's training in Accountable and Ethical Decision‑Making within six months of appointment.
* Hold a recognised teaching qualification and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
