Assistant Store Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the store and delivering exceptional customer service.

* Support the Store Manager in achieving sales, profit, and compliance targets by driving sales growth and building customer loyalty through effective promotional activities and cross-selling initiatives.
* Execute operational activities of the store, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, general housekeeping, and administration, to maintain high standards of performance.
* Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies to ensure in-store presentation and promotional standards meet brand image expectations.
* Motivate and direct staff to achieve their targets and performance goals, effectively managing the store team in the absence of the Store Manager.
* Manage the work schedule on a daily basis, aligning with the Group's labour policy and relevant labour model, to ensure each department is fully and appropriately staffed.
* Implement customer service initiatives that result in a great customer experience, drive customer loyalty, and achieve club card participation targets.
* Perform administrative responsibilities efficiently, including maintaining weekly time and attendance and employee records.

Key Requirements:

* Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)
* Desirable: Degree in Relevant Retail/Business Management
* Minimum 1 year's experience in an assistant store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme
* Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Essential Skills:

* Understanding and application of financial management principles
* Retail/FMCG background and understanding of merchandising and promotions principles
* Knowledge of stock, cost, risk, and compliance management procedures
* Knowledge of customer service excellence
* Knowledge of labour legislation and IR practices
* Knowledge of people management
* Results and target driven
* Planning and organising skills
* Problem-solving skills
* Strong customer orientation
* Following instructions and procedures
