What You'll Be Doing
The Sonographer will provide quality, sustainable diagnostic imaging services by actively participating in the multidisciplinary delivery of person-focused services to patients, clients and clinicians of Southern NSW LHD.
Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of general ultrasound exams, including MSK, obstetrics and interventional imaging.
- Work within a team, allocate workloads according to skills and competencies, and participate in the department roster including on-call as required.
- Interpret request information, select the optimal protocol and adapt protocols to a range of clinical scenarios.
- Contribute to ongoing CPD and supervise or develop others where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, policies and procedures for medical imaging and day-to-day operation of the imaging modality to sustain service provision.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s licence and be willing to drive/travel as required (may involve long drives and overnight stays).
Selection Criteria
- Post-graduate qualifications in ultrasound with current registration with Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) as a Sonographer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people.
- Ability to provide a full range of general ultrasound exams, including MSK, obstetrics and interventional imaging.
- Ability to work in a team, allocate workloads, and participate in departmental rostering and on-call duties as required.
- Ability to interpret requests, select optimal protocols and adapt protocols to clinical scenarios.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD and contribution to supervision or development of others.
- Experience applying legislation, regulations, policies and procedures to medical imaging to ensure sustainable service provision.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to drive/travel as required.
