The Role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. As a vital team member, you will provide high‐quality nursing support and ensure all patients that present to the Urgent Care Service are identified as being appropriate for the service, triaged promptly and provided with front‐line care in collaboration with the Urgent Care Medical Practitioner. Your Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for patients in urgent care — take charge of triaging every patient with accuracy, empathy, and confidence.
* Conduct thorough and precise nursing triage — quickly assess patient needs and prioritise care to ensure the best outcomes.
* Act decisively in critical moments — identify and escalates emergencies or patient deterioration promptly.
* Perform hands‐on procedural care such as suturing and plastering.
* Show flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, ever‐changing setting.
* Collaborate closely with patients, families, carers and medical practitioners to deliver compassionate care.
* Guide patients toward the best clinical outcomes with your knowledge and care.
* Provide essential health information that equips patients to manage their wellbeing.
* Maintain meticulous documentation of all patient records accurately and promptly.
* Champion workplace health and safety by participating in safety initiatives and reporting incidents or hazards.
About You
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Available evenings and weekends.
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and at least 3 years in one of the following: emergency department, triage, ICU, CCU, rural or remote nursing.
* Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and to escalates appropriately.
* Can work autonomously and delegate when appropriate.
* A passion for patient‐centred care and a personable approach.
* Will provide a Working with Children's check and national police check if not already obtained.
