Oyster Farmer Position
We are seeking an Oyster Farmer to join our team in a casual role. This position is expected to last 3 months.
The ideal candidate will have a strong connection to the marine environment and hands-on skills. They will be responsible for assisting with the current workload, which includes land-based and on-water activities.
Land-based activities will include grading and preparation of oysters for market/transport, stripping oyster slats, loading/unloading oyster punts, packing, constructing baskets and oyster racking, operating and maintaining farm mechanical equipment, facility maintenance, and cleaning the farm shed.
On-water activities will include cultivating, seeding, and harvesting oysters, aquaculture and oyster husbandry, maintaining oyster leases, baskets, and other infrastructure, and vessel handling, maintenance, and deck duties.
