About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Core Yard Technician to take ownership of day‐to‐day core yard operations. This is a hands‐on role focused strictly on core handling, processing, and management, ensuring high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee all core yard activities from receipt through to dispatch
* Core handling including metre marking, orientation marking, cutting, sampling, magnetic susceptibility (Magsus), RQD measurements, and photography
* Train and mentor junior technicians in core yard procedures and best practices
* Supervise and maintain core storage systems (racking, tray management, labelling)
* Ensure accurate data recording and sample tracking
* Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and operational efficiency of the core yard
* Coordinate sample dispatch to laboratories and manage chain of custody
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and throughput
* Maintain and operate core cutting and associated equipment safely
* Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and company standards
Requirements
* Proven experience working in a core yard environment (essential)
* Strong understanding of core processing workflows and QA/QC procedures
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
* High attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong safety mindset
* Minimum 1‐2 years of core yard experience required
* LR or MR truck licence
