Ballarat Emergency Department Registrar
Multiple Positions | Full time and Part Time
We are seeking Registrars to join the Emergency Department at Grampians Health – Ballarat Campus.
These positions offer excellent training opportunities, including rotations through ICU, anaesthetics, and other specialty departments.
The Emergency Department has:
* 19 beds in the main department
* Fast-track
* Paediatric ED (5 beds)
* Short Stay Unit (12 beds)
* Front of house model
* Resuscitation areas (3 bays)
The hospital is being redeveloped and a new Emergency Department will be opened early 2028.
Our Emergency Department manages over 60,000 presentations annually, including approximately 25% paediatric cases, with an admission rate of 24–25%.

Grampians Health – Ballarat Campus offers a wide range of acute and sub-acute services including:
* Most surgical sub-specialties (upper GIT, thoracic, vascular, ENT)
* Most medical sub-specialties (neurology, respiratory, nephrology, cardiology (incl. Interventional), haematology, infectious diseases, oncology, gastroenterology)
* Psychiatry
* Level 5 maternity service
* Paediatrics including Special Care Nursery
* Interventional Radiology
* ICU
* CCU
The campus is a major teaching site affiliated with the University of Melbourne and Deakin University Clinical Schools.
About You
We are looking for motivated and dynamic doctors who:
* Demonstrate a strong team focus
* Possess excellent communication skills
* Have a genuine interest in developing Emergency Medicine skills
* Value patient-centred care and collaborative practice
Candidates should ideally be working towards or eligible for registration with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) or have a strong interest in pursuing Emergency Medicine training.
At a minimum, applicants must hold General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
