The Cancer Services Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team on a temporary full time (76 hrs p.f.) from 29 June **** to 26 July ****, with possible extension and leave relief coverage over the next 12 months.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant is an employee who is a registered nurse who:
* Is appointed to an advanced practice nursing position
* Demonstrates a specialised clinical expertise and/or specialised skill set

* Responsible for enacting strategies that supports a work‐based culture that promotes and supports education, learning, research and workforce development
About The Team
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Cancer Services works across the Oncology Day Unit (ODU) and Medical Day Infusions Unit (MDIU) providing leadership and clinical specialist knowledge and support.
The ODU and MDIU consists of a total of 12 treatment spaces, providing care to consumers requiring a range of treatments including, but not limited to oncology, haematology, gastroenterology and hepatology.
The Cancer Services team is a multidisciplinary team comprising of nursing, medical, pharmacy and allied health professionals.
The team provides holistic, evidence‐based quality health care for adults across the continuum to achieve quality outcomes for all patients including safe discharge and appropriate follow up care.
Our nurses provide education, treatments, support and assistance to patients, carers and other health professionals.
The CNC Cancer Services works in close collaboration with the CNC Cancer Care Coordinator and the Specialist Cancer CNCs for Breast, Lung, Melanoma and Prostate Cancer to ensure streamlined pathways for consumers.
